The Floradock- arguably the most unique build we’ve ever done. Indoor botanical garden, living space, and room for a one of a kind RV all conditioned by solar gain and programmable thermostat controlled awning windows. You might not find it in Dwell Magazine but you might find it in the heart of Humboldt County, and we wouldn’t trade it for the world. Getting to build unique projects like this is truly one of the best parts of what we do.

Let me introduce you to the behind the scenes crew that make VDB so special. Family owned companies are the heart and soul of our local economy, and are irreplaceable. We work every day toward building something our kids can be proud of and pick up where we leave off if they choose, building a safe and trusted community around us for our kids to thrive in, and building relationships tightly knit so that we never lose a sense of community as the world seems to get more disjointed and volatile every day.

I am so proud of our little ones and how they learn so quickly, and so proud of my wife for keeping our household and company cohesive and well-nourished through all the seasons of life.

Seeing our builds after they’ve been settled into is always something special. Our projects are our babies, and when we pass the baton to the homeowners, it’s a big moment for us. Checking back in and seeing the whole project integrated into someone’s life always feels good 😎
