Today I want to walk you through a stucco sign repair project we completed, where we addressed some serious water damage behind stucco.

When we arrived on site, we found that water had been running behind the stucco instead of being properly diverted away from the structure. Over time, this caused significant water intrusion into the plywood sheathing underneath. The plywood had completely rotted out.

Once we removed the damaged stucco, the full extent of the water damage became clear. At that point, we stripped out all of the rotted plywood and the framing. We then reframed.

After reframing, we installed new sheathing and applied a proper weather-resistant barrier to prevent future water intrusion. Finally, we reapplied stucco to match the existing sign..
