PUBLIC HEARING ON IMPACT Fees

Public Hearing Notice and Changes to City of Idaho Falls Capital Improvement Plan and Impact Fee Schedule and Ordinance.
Thursday, April 23, 2026; 6:30 City of Idaho Falls Council Chambers
Changes proposed:
Fee schedule will move from single family and multi-family per door to square footage calculations. All square footage will be included in the fee calculation schedule. Finished and Unfinished square footage will be used to calculate fee. See below for
Ave Single Family Detaches with a basement will see a 22% increase from current fee.
Ave Single Family Detached with no basement will see a 22% increase from current fee.
Ave Single Family Attached with basement (Duplex, Twin Home, Town Homes per IRC) will see a 67% increase from current fee.
Ave Single Family Attached (Duples, Twin Home, Town Homes per IRC) will see a 67% Increase from current fee.
Ave Multi-Family Apartments will see an increase of 5.6% from current fee.
Ave Size from above provided by City of Idaho Falls Building Department.

Impact Fees and the Truth. Builders and Developers are not against impact fees. The East Idaho Home Builders Association (EIHBA) is not suing the city to remove impact fees. Our members are not out of state developers, we are the local building community who have helped build Idaho Falls and the surrounding areas. We are wanting fair and transparent accountability for the $13 million in fees that have been collected and not spent. We have not endorse either Jeff or Lisa, but our local PAC has donated to both candidates in hopes of continuing our commitment to a strong and prosperous Idaho Falls.
