Dustin is wrapping up Construction Safety Week 2026 strong. This week was all about being All In Together through the pillars of Recognize, Respond, and Respect. At Dustin, safety is more than a checklist, it’s how we plan our work, communicate as a team, and protect one another every single day.

A huge thank you to all our amazing employees who participated in toolbox talks, site discussions, lunches, contests, and team activities throughout the week. Your involvement helps build the safety culture that keeps our jobsites strong.

Safety Week may only last one week, but our commitment to safety continues every day.

⚠️ Safety Week Day 4: RESPECT ⚠️
Respect on a jobsite means more than following directions, it means respecting the plan, the process, and the people around you. Every safe project starts with communication, accountability, and a team willing to stop, reassess, and replan when conditions change.

At Dustin, safety is never just paperwork. It’s protecting our crews, trade partners, and everyone who steps onto our sites. Speaking up, using Stop Work Authority, and making the safe decision every time is how we build the right way.

⚠️ SAFETY WEEK 2026 | DAY 2 RECOGNIZE & DAY 3 RESPOND ⚠️
This week, our teams focused on more than just reacting to hazards — we focused on recognizing risks early and responding with intention before incidents happen. From planning the work and identifying changing site conditions to reviewing proper fall protection equipment and rescue procedures, safety starts long before the task begins.

This week’s Fall Protection Stand-Down activity challenged teams to sharpen their knowledge of harnesses, tie-off systems, anchors, rescue planning, and suspension trauma response. The goal is simple: prevent the fall, protect the worker, and always be prepared.

At Dustin, safety is everyone’s responsibility and every decision matters.

Construction Safety Week 2026 is underway! 🚧

Today’s focus is “Recognize.” Our teams identified current jobsite hazards, discussed the risks behind them, and took action to control them. Staying alert and proactive is how we protect each other every day.

We had an incredible time celebrating Take Your Child to Work Day! 🔨

Dustin hosted an action-packed day for nearly 40 kids, giving them a hands-on look at the world of construction. From learning how to fly a drone to building brick and mortar walls, patching drywall, and safely operating tools, there was no shortage of excitement. The kids also got up close with construction vehicles, built their own birdhouses, and wrapped up the day with a site tour of one of our local projects.

It was a fun and inspiring day, and we loved sharing what we do with the next generation of builders!

Our Women in Construction group and Preconstruction team recently toured the Park View High School jobsite in Sterling, VA. It was a great opportunity to see the progress firsthand and gain valuable insights into the work being done on the 310,000 SF replacement project.

A big thank you to Superintendents Ken Lavely and George Auel, Assistant Project Manager Jacob Clements, and Senior Project Manager Josh Mitchell for hosting such an informative and engaging tour!

The future of construction is in great hands. 🏗️ Dustin’s former Hokies were proud to be back on campus recruiting at the Virginia Tech Myers-Lawson School of Construction Career Fair. Thank you to all the talented students who stopped by our booth. We loved connecting with the next generation of construction leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers. Your passion, drive, and curiosity are exactly what this industry needs — and your future is bright. We look forward to building it together at Dustin.
