KRC Machine Tool Solutions

KRC Machine Tool Solutions Your complete machine tool solutions provider! KRC is a truly unique company in the machine tool industry. As the company grew, additional space was required.

Founded in 1989 by Thomas Luzak, an industrial engineer with an MBA from Syracuse University, the company fosters a strong work ethic by practicing open book management with significant profit sharing for all employees. So, in 1997, KRC expanded its state-of-the-art facility to 35,000 square feet, complete with high bays, heavy floors, 15 ton and 20 ton overhead cranes, machining capabilities, and

steam cleaning and paint booths. KRC continues to grow, and currently employs about 45 people. KRC also has a national service organization that performs minor repairs and troubleshooting, minor rebuilding, preventive maintenance and laser alignments at the customer's facility. This service group rounds out KRC's ability to provide its customers a full complement of machine tool rebuilding, retrofitting, remanufacturing, custom machine builds, preventive maintenance and emergency repair services. Most of KRC's growth can be attributed to repeat customers and word-of-mouth referrals from customers pleased with the outstanding service they received from KRC.

The Value of Machine Tool Remanufacturing

There’s a misconception in manufacturing:
That “new” automatically means “better.”
In reality, a properly remanufactured machine can deliver performance that rivals—or even exceeds—original specs.
At KRC Machine Tool Solutions, remanufacturing goes far beyond a simple repair:

• full mechanical rebuild
• updated controls and systems
• precision alignment and geometry correction
• complete performance restoration

The result is a machine that operates like new—without the cost or lead time of buying new.
For many manufacturers, it’s one of the most overlooked ways to increase capacity without major capital investment.

Not every machine is a candidate… but the right ones can deliver serious ROI.

Have you ever evaluated remanufacturing as an alternative to replacement?

Why Aerospace Shops Demand Precision

In aerospace manufacturing, “close enough” doesn’t exist.
Tolerances are tight. Standards are strict.
And the cost of error is high.

That level of precision doesn’t just depend on programming or tooling—it depends on the machine itself.
At KRC Machine Tool Solutions, we work with equipment that must meet exacting standards:

• precise alignment
• consistent accuracy
• reliable repeatability
Because even small deviations can lead to:
• rejected parts
• wasted material
• production delays

Precision isn’t just about quality—it’s about protecting the entire operation.
When your work demands tight tolerances, machine performance becomes mission-critical.

What level of accuracy does your operation require—and how confident are you your machines are meeting it consistently?

What Makes a Machine Tool Last 30 Years?

Modern manufacturing operations rely heavily on reliable and well‑maintained machine tools. As production demands increase, manufacturers are looking closely at how equipment performance, maintenance strategy, and modernization investments affect long‑term productivity.

Many companies are realizing that maintaining and improving existing machines can deliver significant operational benefits. Whether through better maintenance programs, monitoring technology, retrofits, or rebuilds, manufacturers are focusing more attention on maximizing the value of the equipment already on the shop floor.

Strategic equipment management not only improves reliability but can also extend machine life, reduce downtime, and improve production consistency.

Question:
How does your organization approach equipment lifecycle management or modernization?

Prevent Problems Before They Start
The most expensive machine failures are rarely sudden.
Most start as small, unnoticed issues:
• slight vibration
• minor alignment drift
• early component wear
• subtle changes in sound or performance
The problem?
These early warning signs are often overlooked until they turn into major failures.
And by that point, the cost isn’t just the repair.
It’s:
• production downtime
• missed deadlines
• scrap
• customer impact
The difference between reactive and proactive maintenance is simple:
👉 Reactive = fix it after it breaks
👉 Proactive = prevent it from breaking
And that difference can save thousands — sometimes hundreds of thousands — of dollars.
At KRC Machine Tool Solutions, we help manufacturers identify and resolve issues early through inspections, diagnostics, and preventive service programs.
📩 If you want better visibility into the condition of your machines, DM me and we can talk through a proactive approach.
👉 Question for the group:
What’s one machine issue you wish you had caught earlier before it became a bigger problem?

Machine Life Extension Strategy
Not every machine needs to be replaced.
In fact, many manufacturers are sitting on equipment that still has years — even decades — of productive life left… if managed correctly.
The key is having a machine life extension strategy, not just reacting to failures.
That strategy includes:
✔ Preventive maintenance to catch early wear
✔ Periodic rebuilds to restore mechanical accuracy
✔ Strategic retrofits to modernize controls and performance
✔ Ongoing inspections to track machine condition over time
When these are done correctly, manufacturers can:
• delay major capital expenditures
• maintain production reliability
• improve machining accuracy
• maximize ROI on existing assets
The reality is — replacing a machine is often the most expensive option, not always the smartest one.
At KRC Machine Tool Solutions, we help manufacturers evaluate machine condition and build long-term strategies that extend equipment life while maintaining performance.
📩 If you’re planning future equipment investments, DM me and let’s talk through whether your current machines still have life left in them.
👉 Question for operations leaders:
Do you have a long-term strategy for your machines… or are decisions made when problems arise?
