First set of grow out bags are set on our lease located right next to Sebastian Inlet. Near Indian River county. Fresh ocean water twice a day. We got around 100,000 clams into the final grow out bags last week. 71 bags set with a target density at 1,400. We’re going to try this density for now and monitor. Survivability is very high so we’ll have to make sure this works for us.
I will be constructing a purging rack on my lease to put the bags for a day prior to harvest. Keep an eye out for that, I’ll show how I’m going to build it.

We are going to market our clams as Echo Atlantic Clams. Farmed on our Aquaculture lease located just inside Sebastian Inlet. And they will be some of the finest clams in the country.

Aquaculture update. These are the seeds we planted in 3mm nursery bags 45 days ago. Now at close to 34 liters. We replanted them on the lease in 4 mm bags.
I’m seriously considering naming my lease Shell Derado or clamtopia. What do you think? I think Clamalot is taken, although I like that one.

We currently have over 900,000 clams growing on our aquaculture lease. These hardworking shellfish are natural water filters, helping improve water quality by removing excess nutrients and suspended particles.
