Heads up! AES is having a "CoolCents" event today due to the high temperatures. This means that customers with smart thermostats will see a setback in temperature by a minimum of 3 degrees, and customers with A/C (outdoor) switches will experience short cycling. If you are a part of this program (or with your current electric company), your system will NOT keep up and be off set point due to this. This is NOT a malfunction of your system. This is the electric companies taking control of your system through these programs. And to answer the question......... we do not support or recommend these programs.

🔥The heat is HERE!!! 🔥

Here are some tips to keep your air conditioner running and stay cool through the extreme heat!

1. If you haven’t changed your filter in the last two weeks, do it NOW!!!!! No matter what size your filter is, change it immediately! Your unit will thank you!
2. Do not use 3M Brand Filters! They have a coating on them that will restrict airflowt.
3. Do not turn your thermostat below 70 degrees. With extreme heat, it could ice your system!
4. Run your blower in the “on” position to circulate air so your unit will not work as hard.
5. If you have not done maintenance....... well....... I know a good company to recommend. 😊
6. Do NOT change the temperature setting on your thermostat! Leave it at 72 (or whatever setting you like) 24 hours a day.
7. If the inside temperature in your house is up to 20 degrees BELOW the outside temperature, then you are doing good!
8. Close your blinds during the day to reduce the heat load. Close drapes. Do not open your windows!
9. Do not leave your pets outside! Please bring them in!! If your air conditioner stops working, please take your pets with you! Don’t leave them at home without air conditioning! And do not leave your pet or child inside a vehicle under any circumstance!!!
10. Drink plenty of fluids!
11. Check on the elderly and your neighbors to make sure they are okay.
12. If you have a utility saver box on your unit, the electric company WILL shut your unit off for periods of time. Just a heads up!
13. Keep ALL of your registers open. Do not close them!
14. Wear light colored clothing. Dark colored clothes attract heat.
15. Be safe and use common sense!

💨Keep vents open (even in unused rooms)!

Closing vents to “save money” actually:
• Increases system pressure
• Reduces efficiency
• Can damage your furnace

Your system is designed for balanced airflow.

🧊 Is it normal for my furnace to run constantly?
In very cold weather, yes, it may run longer cycles.

But call a pro if you notice:
• Cold air blowing
• Short cycling (turning on/off frequently)
• Burning smell
• Loud banging noises

Don’t ignore warning signs in winter.

❄️Change your filter!
A dirty filter:
• Restricts airflow
• Makes your system work harder
• Increases your heating bill
• Can cause the system to overheat

👉 Check it monthly during heavy use.
It’s a fix that protects a $5,000–$10,000+ system.
