Each week, we showcase one downtown business in our series “Downtown on Display”. This week’s Downtown on Display is Indiana Oxygen Company of Richmond!

As the oldest gas and welding supply distributor in the country, Indiana Oxygen proudly serves the state of Indiana and its surrounding markets with the high level of customer service and expertise that their customers need in order to compete and thrive in today’s business world. They provide a full line of welding supplies and machines, plasma machines, industrial gases, and much more. Supplying medical and specialty gases to numerous local businesses, such as hospitals, fire stations, and restaurants, there is a pretty good chance you have used their products without even knowing. They are also the oldest supplier of gases to teams at the Indianapolis 500, dating back to 1915. Branch Manager Brad Bonwell and Customer Sales Representative Billy Hamilton had great relationships within the community when Indiana Oxygen opened their Richmond Branch in July of 2019. This tremendously helped their store hit the ground running during their grand opening. Brad had this to say about his branch’s location in downtown Richmond: “We have such an amazing location with easy access to our lot. We have very supportive local businesses. With plenty of restaurants nearby, we always have great options for lunch, too.” Mike Mong, Director of Purchasing, mentioned “Indiana Oxygen is a family-owned company with just under 200 employees. Dock Worker/Cylinder Handler

Duties:
· Organize and prepare skids of gas cylinders
· Move skids with a forklift
· Comply with safety programs and all regulations (OSHA, FDA, etc.)
· Comply with all company policies, procedures, and quality standards
· Work well with a team and ensure a smooth transition between changing shifts

Qualifications:
· Previous experience/knowledge of the gas and welding industry is preferred
· Able to move up to 125 pounds
· Able to perform work during long periods of standing
· Able to operate a forklift
· Must have a strong level of attention to detail
· Must pass a drug screen and background check

Seeking a Full-Time Class A or B CDL Driver with Hazmat at our Indianapolis location.

Driver cannot have had any suspensions on their license within the past 3 years.

This position will be Monday-Friday, delivering on local routes. There will be skids of cylinders and welding hard goods delivered. This driver will need to be able to lift at least 50 lbs regularly for this physically demanding job. Experience in the gas and welding industry is a plus but not a must.
