This article from Frame Building News digs into why defining a structure’s true intent from day one is critical to everything that follows—design decisions, engineering loads, budgeting, and long-term performance. Too often, projects get treated like simple storage buildings when they’re actually headed toward residential use, creating costly disconnects later in the process.

👉 A valuable read for builders and suppliers who want to avoid misalignment early, improve project outcomes, and make sure expectations match reality from the ground up.

Learn why barndominiums should be engineered as residential structures from the start to avoid performance issues caused by treating a future home like a simple barn shell.
