In our last post, we asked a critical question: "Why are we creating so much waste in the first place?"

As we work with manufacturers across multiple industries, one thing becomes increasingly clear:

The deeper we examine industrial processes, the more opportunities we find to eliminate waste before it is ever created. Much of what leaves a plant as "waste" is not waste at all. It is simply a valuable resource that has become mixed with contaminants.

- Water still has value.
- Metals still have value.
- Chemicals still have value.

Many process chemicals retain significant value long before they are discarded.

Closed-Loop Manufacturing: The Future of Sustainable Industrial Processing

In most manufacturing facilities, water follows a one-way path. It enters the plant, is used once, and is discharged as wastewater for treatment in a centralized system designed to handle everything the facility produces.

Water quality affects every manufacturing process. Exergy's targeted approach to water and chemical recovery by process area, allowes the customer to remove total dissolved solids (TDS) from the rinses, including metals and recover the water for each process application per customer requirements. The reject/concentrates from the recycling system was can be sent resued or back for reuse, additional water recovery and concentration of various salts/minerals.

Results:

💰 1-5 year return on investment (ROI) with operating cost reductions of 70%
