Our interns recently toured the Ellwood Irvine complex, where they experienced the scale and expertise behind our operations at Ellwood National Forge, Ellwood National Steel, and Ellwood National Crankshaft. From seeing how raw materials become mission-critical components to connecting with the people who make it happen, the tour offered a firsthand look at the opportunities that come with an internship at Ellwood.

Today, we celebrate Gary Whiteley and nearly 50 years of dedication, craftsmanship, and commitment to Ellwood National Forge.

Gary was born and raised in Corry, PA, graduating from Corry Area High School in 1971. After high school, he attended Clarion University (now PennWest Clarion) and began his career at Roger Steel and General Electric before joining McGinness Steel Co. in 1978. When McGinness Steel Co. became part of Ellwood in 2002, Gary continued his journey with what is now known as Ellwood National Forge.

Throughout his career, Gary built his expertise as a CNC Machinist, Roughing Machinist, and Finishing Machinist, becoming a trusted teammate whose dedication and attention to detail helped deliver the quality and precision our customers rely on in mission-critical industries.

Outside of work, Gary has always stayed active and connected to his community. He married his wife, Karen, in 1983, and together they welcomed their son, Gary, and daughters, Nicole, Kaylyn, Malorie, and Tara.

Gary has coached youth soccer for more than 40 years, played countless seasons of adult recreational softball, and enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, building houses for others, and traveling in his camper. His favorite adventures, however, are the memories he creates with his 10 grandchildren: Alec, Ava, Sarah, Camilla, Colton, Harper, Leana, Maisy, Saylor, and Jordan.

Gary, thank you for nearly five decades of dedication, knowledge, and partnership. Your commitment along with the relationships you have built have left a lasting impact on Ellwood National Forge. We wish you all the best in this next chapter!

We were proud to represent Ellwood National Forge in the Warren Fourth of July Parade and celebrate the hardworking spirit that has helped build our nation for generations.

As we look ahead to America’s 250th celebration, we’re reminded that America’s story has always been shaped by the people who make, build, and innovate. For more than 115 years, Ellwood has been proud to contribute to that story by manufacturing critical components that support industries across the country.

To us, it’s more than metal. It’s Metal with a Mission. That mission comes to life through the dedication of our team members, whose craftsmanship and commitment continue to make a difference every day.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us, and thank you to our team members for everything you do.
