Cascades has launched lithoURB, a 100% recycled and recyclable paperboard developed for high-end lithographic printing on corrugated and folding carton packaging.

Sappi has announced the retirement of Mike Haws and the appointment of Kirk Ross as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sappi North America, effective January 1, 2027, following a hand-over period.

Ross, who currently serves as Vice President of Manufacturing for Sappi North America, will succeed Haws, who will retire in February 2027 following a distinguished 40-year career in the pulp and paper industry, including 14 years with Sappi and seven years as President and CEO of Sappi North America.

National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW) is pressing the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado to halt enforcement of Colorado’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) law while its lawsuit proceeds.

NAW argues that Colorado has not answered its main constitutional arguments, including that the law requires businesses to join and pay into Circular Action Alliance (CAA), does not provide sufficient oversight of CAA, and bans businesses from listing EPR fees on their invoices.
