Wurms Diversified Solutions, a trusted and reliable contract manufacturer of wood, plastic and seamless vinyl upholstery components and sub-assemblies, and Creative Plastics International, a specialized thermoformed and pressure formed component fabricator, announced the successful completion of a merger effective July 1, 2025. Its customers will have access to an expanded set of capacity, while continuing to benefit from its steadfast commitment to high-quality services and support. This merger creates a combined entity characterized by 135 years of manufacturing excellence with 50+ employees spread across 145,000 square feet in locations in Jackson Center and New Washington, Ohio. The new company will continue to operate under the trusted and familiar management of the Wurm family.

Gerald Wurm, President, said “In 2009, the Wurm family purchased Creative Plastics Inc and has since operated as Creative Plastics International. The Wurm family also thermoforms plastic components under separate entity Wurms Diversified Solutions, established 1947. Integrating Creative Plastics International into Wurms Diversified Solutions will form a stronger business, drive further growth, spur innovation and improve efficiency thereby creating more value for our customers.”

Wurms Diversified Solutions will continue operating through two business segments:

Wurms Diversified Solutions –

WOOD FABRICATION: 3 axis CNC precision cutting, milling & carving, 3D membrane pressing, edge banding, fastener installation and value added assembly
PLASTIC FABRICATION: thermoforming, 5 axis CNC trimming, 3 axis CNC precision cutting, in house tool building & 3D print farming
UPHOLSTERY FABRICATION: Thermoforming of seamless vinyl covers and assembly of seamless vinyl pads and cushions

GR Golf (DBA) – a specialized division providing seamless vinyl covers and cushion assemblies for golf carts.

This is a full-time on-site role for a 1st Shift Production Associate at Creative Plastics International, Inc. The Production Associate will be responsible for operating production machinery, monitoring the quality of the product, and ensuring that all safety standards are met.

Production Assistance
Machine Operation skills
Quality Control expertise

Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience: Manufacturing: 5 years (Preferred)

Responsibilities:
Follow safety protocols and procedures.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Perform quality control checks on products.
Operate machinery in accordance with safety guidelines.
Assist in the assembly of products.
Load and unload materials as needed.
Pack and label products for shipment.

Expected hours:
First Shift
10 x 4 Monday - Thursday 5:30a - 4:00p

JACKSON CENTER, Ohio – Many argue that 1968 was the most memorable year in United States history. America introduced the first Boeing 747, orbited the moon and McDonald’s sold its first Big Mac. This year also marks the golden anniversary of the founding year of Creative Plastics, Inc.

Creative Plastics Inc. humbly ventured into thermoforming as an industry pioneer with a vintage hand oven on the original airport site of Korn Field. The company was founded in 1968 by Wayne F. Korn as an outside source of thermoformed plastic components being used by one nearby travel trailer manufacturer. Now, Creative Plastics International has emerged an experienced industry leader with many loyal, skilled and well-trained employees producing products that have been sold around the world to over one hundred customers.

Today, Wayne’s cousin, Keith Korn and son, Randy Korn, manage day to day operations. The company has grown into a multi-million-dollar corporation. The company’s success has hinged on its commitment to adapting its capabilities to the needs of the industries that it serves by investing in equipment and key acquisitions.

CPI employs approximately 22 residents of Shelby and surrounding counties. CPI’s footprint in the community has expanded over the past fifty years with continued investments in property, production, warehouse and office buildings.
