Today our morning started together with our work family. I use the word "family" with sincere intention. My heart was full as I experienced our team laughing together, celebrating each other, encouraging each other, and yes--at times poking each other in fun.

There IS a Baker Difference and I witnessed the core reason of it this morning.

Just popping in to say hello. Michigan skipped spring, construction season is in full swing, and I'm currently drowning in sticky notes and to-do lists. 😅

Phones ringing, schedules moving, projects starting, projects wrapping up, and somewhere in the middle of it all… me trying to remember what day it is.

Wouldn't trade it though ❤️

How is everyone doing? Surviving the sudden jump from winter coats to air conditioning?

Spring weather doesn’t always cooperate on construction projects — especially near the water. 🌧️🌊

Mud, groundwater, and rain can create plenty of challenges during excavation and foundation work, but this is where experience, preparation, and teamwork matter most.

Proud of our team and trade partners for continuing to push forward, adapt, and simply get the job done the right way. Lots of hard work happening behind the scenes on this one. 👊

In this project, after removing the existing siding, we discovered areas where improper flashing details had allowed moisture intrusion over time. Before installing new siding, the affected materials were repaired and the flashing and weather barrier details were corrected to help prevent this happening again.

One of the more important parts of exterior remodeling is making sure water is properly managed around windows, doors, decks, and roof intersections.

It’s a good reminder that exterior finishes are only part of the system — the layers behind them matter just as much.
