Women in the Trades: Building Brighter Futures!
Today, three members of the Professional Women in Building (PWB) had the opportunity to participate in the Women in Trades panel at the LISD!
Representing PWB were:
- Michelle Jones – Right Now Heating and Cooling
- Cat Fosgate – Fosgate Family Electric Company
- Amy Hess – Baker Builders
We shared our experiences in the construction industry with young women in grades 9–12 from high schools throughout Lenawee County.
Our message was simple: Women belong in the trades, and the opportunities are just as available to them as they are to men!
We discussed different career paths, the challenges women may encounter in traditionally male-dominated industries, and what it takes to build a successful career, whether you're working in the field, managing projects, or owning a business.
You don't have to know everything to get started. You just have to be willing to learn!
Thank you to the LISD for bringing these young women together and giving us the opportunity to encourage the next generation of skilled tradeswomen and industry leaders!
