The crew was moving right along today when we spotted "The Boss" in the truck with the AC running.

To be fair, he's probably answering calls, working estimates, scheduling jobs, or handling something important.

But from where we were standing, it looked a lot like he had found the coolest spot on the jobsite.

Every crew has their role.

Some swing hammers. Some run the office. Some keep the AC company.

Some jobs go exactly as expected.

A clean tear-off. Solid decking underneath. New roofing system installed and on to the next one.

And then there are days like today.

Once the old roofing materials were removed, we found deteriorated roof decking and a damaged ridge beam that couldn't be seen from the ground.

That's part of construction. Sometimes the real condition of a roof isn't fully visible until the layers come off.

The good news is that issues like these can be addressed correctly while the project is underway instead of being covered up and left for later.

Our crew is making the necessary repairs so this homeowner has a solid structure underneath the new roof—not just new shingles on top.

We'll share more photos as this project progresses.

This barn lean-to collapsed during the snow and ice we experienced earlier this year.

Rather than tearing down everything, we rebuilt the damaged sections and tied the new construction into the portions of the structure that were still standing.

As part of the rebuild, we strengthened the framing by adding a mid-span beam and upgrading one section from 2x6 rafters to 2x10 rafters with mid-span tension blocking.

The goal wasn't just to replace what failed. It was to rebuild the structure with additional strength while preserving the portions that were still performing well.

The before and after photos show the transformation from the collapsed structure to the finished rebuild.

Projects like this are a good reminder that every repair is different. Sometimes the best solution is a complete replacement. Other times, it's rebuilding the damaged areas and integrating them into what remains.

We're proud of how this one turned out.
