This week, our team spent time with the Nextpower Energy Storage at their office located in Heathrow, Florida.

The educational workshop a wonderful opportunity to learn more about battery energy storage systems, BESS applications and sizing, and Nextpower’s HD5™ AC and HD5™ DC solutions.

Our team also had the chance to discuss constructability, long-term services, and best practices for storage and preservation of the equipment.

We greatly appreciate the time and knowledge the Nextpower’s team shared with us and look forward to putting what we learned into practice during upcoming future projects.

Thank you to the Nextpower team for hosting us!

The Decons Energy Team is currently in the field performing electrical maintenance testing on a legacy generator package, which helps assess the condition and reliability of critical electrical components.

As part of the maintenance scope, our team is conducting insulation resistance testing and Very Low Frequency (VLF) testing on medium-voltage power cables to evaluate insulation integrity and identify potential issues before they lead to unexpected failures.

Our field activities also included:
• Voltage monitoring, meter inspection, testing, and commissioning
• Electrical generator excitation transformer insulation resistance testing
• Medium-voltage (MV) power cable insulation testing using a Very Low Frequency (VLF) insulation tester
• VLF AC Hi-Pot testing

By utilizing hands-on field expertise and rigorous electrical testing, our team helps support the safe, reliable, and continued operation of critical power generation systems.

It was a great experience in Georgetown, Guyana, at the CARILEC Engineering & Procurement Conference & Exhibition 2026, where DECONS Energy had the opportunity to attend alongside our partner, Nextpower.

This event brought together utilities, energy professionals, technology providers, and regional stakeholders, providing an excellent opportunity to build relationships, exchange ideas, and explore the Caribbean's evolving energy infrastructure.

Throughout the conference, our leadership team supported Nextpower's energy business development efforts while connecting with utilities, developers, and industry leaders to discuss solutions for:

• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• Renewable energy integration
• Microgrids and resilient power systems
• Power generation and electrical infrastructure
• Data centers and other mission-critical energy applications

A sincere thank you to CARILEC - Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation, the event organizers, Nextpower, and everyone who took the time to meet with our team. We appreciated the opportunity to develop new relationships, identify potential project opportunities and contribute to industry-related discussions.
