Position Summary:
We are looking for skilled, hardworking, and dependable Drywall Hangers & Finishers (Tapers) to join our growing team in Jacksonville. Whether you specialize in precision board hanging, high-level finishing (Levels 1–5), or spray and texture application, we have consistent, year-round work available on both residential and commercial job sites across the area.
Key Responsibilities
Drywall Hangers:
Measure, cut, fit, and hang sheetrock/wallboard onto wood or metal framing with precision and minimal waste.
Read and interpret blueprints and layout sheets as needed.
Ensure all boards are installed flush, securely fastened, and plumb/level.
Drywall Finishers & Texture Mechanics:
Embed tape, apply joint compound, and perform taping/finishing to Level 4/5 standards.
Sand joints and surfaces to achieve a smooth, seamless finish ready for paint.
Apply specialty textures and spray finishes (knockdown, orange peel, popcorn removal/refinishing) as needed.
Inspect surfaces for imperfections and make repairs or touch-ups prior to project closeout.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in commercial or residential drywall hanging and/or finishing. We will train the right candidate if required.
Tools: Must have basic personal hand tools appropriate for your trade (taping knives, mud pan, screw gun, tool belt, etc.).
Reliability: Reliable transportation to travel to job sites throughout Jacksonville and surrounding areas.
Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, commitment to job-site safety, and a positive team attitude.
Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders/scaffolding, and stand/bend for extended periods.
