Apex team members recently volunteered for a cleanup day at Bert Maxwell Boat Ramp to help St. Johns Riverkeeper further its efforts to protect and restore the St. Johns River and its watershed. A small but mighty team of eight filled eight garbage bags, preventing that trash from entering the river and noticeably improving the aesthetics of the park!

We wrapped up our summer internships this week with a site visit! This is one of the most important - and fun! - parts of our internship program as get out in the field to bridge the gaps between what these bright students learn in the classroom, what they learn with us in the office, and how it all comes together on the construction site.

The outing included a jobsite walk-through with a set of engineering plans to see how a one-dimensional plan gets translated into a three-dimensional house. This gave us the opportunity to discuss the different specifications and connections they’ve learned during the past two months and apply it to real-world construction.

It’s been a pleasure to have Colin, Kat, Alexia, and Bailey with us this summer. Best wishes as they pursue their engineering studies and look ahead to a promising future in the industry!

We’re excited to welcome back Davor Bozic as our Division Lead for North Florida. He began his journey with us in 2016 as a CAD Designer right out of high school while pursuing his degree in structural engineering. In 2025, Davor expanded his experience with a more customer-facing Engineering Manager role, and now returns with even greater expertise and perspective.

“I'm grateful for the opportunity to come back to Apex to continue doing what I love while contributing to a team that feels like family,” says Davor. “I am looking forward to being part of the solution in making home ownership more attainable in our country.”

With a decade of experience in the Florida building community, we look forward to the impact Davor will make in his new role in North Florida. Welcome back!

Influential Women recently recognized Apex’s own Kaitlyn Cheshier as an Influential Woman in Architecture. Kaitlyn is a Senior Production Manager with a professional background in architecture, 3D modeling, and residential design production. She has been with Apex for 6 years. Our office had some very special visitors on Friday! The team from K9s For Warriors and their amazing service dogs stopped by to share how they rescue and train dogs to support Veterans living with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and military trauma, pairing them at no cost to the Veteran. Hearing the impact of these partnerships on mental health and quality of life was a powerful reminder of what true support looks like. A huge thank you to 𝗞𝟵𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 for all you do for our Veterans and for spending the day with our team.

We have had a busy internship season this year! As our spring interns, 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 and 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗹, have completed their time with us, we are excited to welcome three new interns for the summer:

𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗮 is a civil engineering student at University of North Florida (UNF) with a minor in construction management. She is looking forward to learning about what structural industry entails (rules, codes, etc.) and tackling new challenges. In her free time she enjoys reading, playing the saxophone, and building things.

𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻 studies civil and structural engineering at UNF and is looking forward to the practical application of what he’s learned so far in school in real life projects. He enjoys spending time with family and learning about new engineering topics in his spare time.

𝗞𝗮𝘁 majors in civil engineering at Florida State University, where she also pursues interests in structural and construction materials engineering. She is looking forward to working with new structures and materials in CAD, as well as making new connections and working with a team. In her free time she loves doing arts and crafts, working out, and trying new food.

We are also happy to announce that, following his graduation from UNF this month, 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 will be joining the Apex team as a full-time staff engineer in July!

Third time's a charm! After a heatwave in '24 and a downpour in '25, last Thursday delivered a beautiful evening for Central Florida's largest workplace wellness event - the 𝟯𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝟱𝗞.

We are proud to report that our team doubled in size again this year! Ten of us from the BeLit family of companies - along with over 13,000 people from 400+ teams - ran and walked through Downtown Orlando to raise support for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Many thanks to our returning Team Captain Cody Arkadie, new Co-Captain Tiana Larkins, and everyone who supported this important community event!
