About the owner:
Randy Faist has been involved in renewable energy projects for the past decade. He designs and installs the largest private photovoltaic systems in Rock County Wisconsin. His passion for solar panel materials technology and electrical engineering is what drove him to create Solar Geniuses, a business with a passion for helping others free themselves from the already exuberant and
increasing costs and taxes of traditional, environmentally damaging electrical power conglomerates. Randy Faist holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University. His past work experience includes contracts with Boeing’s Seattle operations. He has designed numerous aircraft structures. When not working on maximizing the output of a solar panel array, Randy enjoys “tinkering” on airplanes. He has built 6 airplanes to date and retains an active pilot’s license. His favorite aircraft is the Lancair ES, which he redesigned to accommodate a modified fuel system. It can now fly non-stop to nearly any point in the continental United States. Lancair has taken Randy Faist’s redesign, and has adopted it into all of their current aircrafts. Randy is a licensed Real Estate Broker. He correctly predicted the 2008 real estate downturn, when he sold most of his real estate holdings prior to the big drop. He correctly predicted the start of the recovery, purchasing more properties in 2010, and is again positioned well with the current property valuations. A veteran of the US Army, Randy is a Russian linguist. He was attached to the 12th Special Forces Group, which involved jumping out of perfectly good aircrafts. He has two reasons for jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft. 1 – “Because you have your orders.” 2 – “Because while the aircraft seems perfectly sound, the pilot remains questionable.”
How Randy has spare time is beyond us, but apparently he likes to build radio and communication towers during it. These towers range from 40 feet to 200 feet tall. A selfie at the top of each completed tower is his favorite part of the build. Randy Faist is married with three children, each as driven, curious, and passionate about the earth as he and his wife, Monica. His youngest is a seasoned Tae Kwon Do practitioner.
