Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Design Drafting Technology, or a related field are required
• Three to five years of direct utility experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software required
• Experience with ESRI GIS software is a plus

Primary Responsibilities Include:
• Line and substation staking
• Field data collection
• Creating and maintaining engineering drawings
• Maintaining accurate system records and documentation

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Class E driver’s license and be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Central Electric Power Cooperative (Jefferson City, MO) is accepting applications for the position of Transmission System Operator (TSO). This position works as part of the operations team to monitor and operate the CEPC electrical transmission system.

Primary responsibilities include monitoring power flows, voltages, and equipment status across the transmission system; writing switching orders; and remotely assisting field crews with equipment operation and control.

Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of an associate’s degree in industrial electricity, electrical distribution systems, electronics, or a closely related field. Experience in power system operations, electrical dispatching or equivalent field work may be considered in lieu of a degree. Candidates must have the ability to attain and maintain NERC Transmission Operator certification within one year of the start date. Central will provide the training and continuing education required for the NERC certification. A solid understanding of electrical system fundamentals and basic computer proficiency are required. The ability to interpret complex electrical systems is preferred.

This position requires shift work, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, and the ability to be on call.

Key responsibilities include working closely with the Manager of Accounting and Senior Accountant to assist with accounts payable, annual audit schedules, the annual operating budget and capital budget process and the management of Central's payroll and benefits process, as well as providing a high degree of accounting for the organization.

This position will assist technicians with the splicing/placement of fiber optic systems, refreshing the Carrier Ethernet hardware, and general maintenance as part of the Transmission System Operations of Central Electric Power Cooperative. Additionally, duties will include numerous other field work activities and maintenance tasks. Supervision will be provided by experienced professional Telecommunications Technicians and will allow the successful candidate to grow in a well-rounded professional environment.

Individuals will be required to work in the field on occasion and must be capable of lifting 75 to 100 pounds. Knowledge of distribution load flow and fault analysis is helpful.

Central Electric Power Cooperative is a Transmission cooperative with its headquarters located in Jefferson City. Central provides service to its eight member distribution cooperative systems in a 27 county area through 1,600 miles of transmission lines and 120 substations.

Successful candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. In addition, experience with Milsoft engineering analysis, recloser/fuse coordination software, GIS Software, Excel, and Word would be helpful. Knowledge of other computer applications that are utilized to support distribution and transmission operations, including SCADA systems is considered a plus.

Manger of Distribution Engineering

Central Electric Power Cooperative (CEPC) is seeking a qualified electrical engineer to serve as Manager of Distribution Engineering. This position manages a department that provides distribution engineering and operational support to CEPC's member distribution cooperatives. Responsibilities include developing RUS-approved construction work plans, long-range plans, sectionalizing studies, distribution line design, other technical operations, and maintenance projects, as requested by member systems.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and analytical skills, with experience in distribution load flow and fault analysis, system modeling, and power system operations. Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and electric distribution system design principles is essential. Proficiency with Milsoft engineering analysis, GIS, and protective coordination software, as well as knowledge of RUS design standards is preferred.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Missouri is preferred, or progress toward licensure is expected. A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in electric utility distribution engineering or consulting is required.
