This customer had a two tier countertop, but it was the countertop that was made that way. This customer wanted to replace the laminate countertop with granite countertops, but they wanted to keep the same set up with the two tiers. We built the customer a knee wall and used support braces. We routed the areas the braces would sit out so that the tops of them would be flush with the tops of the plate the countertop would sit on. We did not install the countertops, but once they were installed we put in a mosaic tile backsplash. If you are interested in having something like this done then contact us.

This customer had a large area in front of a small half bathroom upstairs in their farmhouse. The half bathroom was the very first room and had plenty of space to turn it into a full bathroom and still have a sitting area as well as a large hallway leading to the two upstairs bedrooms. This house did have plaster walls that we had checked for asbestos and was found to not have asbestos in it. We removed the plaster off of one whole section and then a partial section of another wall to be able to tie the framing into the original framing of this farmhouse as well as any baseboards and trim. We had to remove a flushmount fixture and the electrical box because the new walls would need to cover the area that it was placed in, so we removed it. We removed the subfloor that was there originally and reran all new drain pipes for the toilet, sink, and the new drain for the tub as well as all new PEX supply lines. Then we replaced the subfloor with 23/32” AdvanTech OSB subfloor. We then laid out the grid we planned for framing the two walls by measuring equal distances from each opposing wall and popping a line using a chalk line. We checked each corner with a framing square and by measuring from corner to corner in each direction to make sure the measurements were the same. We moved the tub inside of the layout and using a laser level we began shooting up the top plates and shooting down the bottom plates. Each plate had previously been marked for studs to be spaced 16” OC. We then began installing the studs one at a time, having to measure each one because the ceiling was not level. We then installed 1 gang electrical boxes on the exterior side of the bathroom wall on each corner around 7’ high for sconces to be installed at a later time, we ran the wire to a junction box to tie the new lead into the old lead for the light that we removed and allowed the switch close to the stairwell to control both sconces. We also installed an electrical box for a switch to turn the new exhaust fan, light, and bluetooth speaker on and off and for the exhaust fan we ran duct out the side through a vent. When both walls had been framed we dry fitted the tub and it fit well, so we pulled it back out, mixed some mortar and spread in the area the tub sat, we then set the tub in place and leveled it. After we were satisfied with the placement we installed screws through the tub fl**ge into the wood studs and left for the day to allow the mortar to dry. Upon returning we installed the acrylic surround and after that was finished we began installing the drywall. When the drywall was hung we began finishing the new drywall and fixing any imperfections that were in the plaster in the original portion. The fl**ge around the tub surround had the drywall installed the correct way, up to the fl**ge and not over top of it, so the large gap between the drywall and the top and sides of the surround had to be filled with 5 minute quickset. After the quickset dried, we then taped around the tub and surround. Then we completely finished the drywall. The customer wanted to paint the inside of the bathroom themselves and they wanted to install shiplap themselves over the drywall on the exterior of the new portion of the bathroom as they were going to do with all of the walls throughout the house that weren’t inside of a bedroom or a bathroom. We then installed the new vanity with top and installed the plumbing to it, installed the new flooring, installed a new interior door to the bathroom, and then cut the original baseboards to reinstall. This customer was pleased with the end product of this project and so were we.

We removed the old cast iron tub and the tile surround and installed a new porcelain coated steel tub, new drain assembly, new water diverter, installed 1/2” Hardie backer board, a preformed niche, then we waterproofed the tub with a bead of clear silicone where the backer board met the tub, then we used hydrogen to paint 3 coats of waterproofing membrane onto the backer board, we then installed 12”x24” tiles, in the niche we used a herringbone mosaic tile, grouted the tile, installed the shower head, escutcheon, and the shower handle, we then cleaned up. This was a nice little project and it turned out very well. Always great to have another satisfied customer. This customer had bought this house and it had, what appeared to be, a DYI’r that built the blue porch to be movable and out of 2x4 lumber. It was very unsafe for someone to walk on. We built this nice little porch for the customer in 2 days and it is built right. The customer can now have a table with a grill and have a BBQ and not have to be concerned about their porch falling on them. If you are in the market for a new porch then give me a call at (502) 264-1514 and schedule an appointment.

A complete bathroom remodel we did. What a transformation. We used the same amount of space, yet used it more ergonomically. We did away with the window, moved plumbing and electrical, built a bench seat, installed a new subfloor, prepped installed a schluter thin pan, installed cement board backer on the shower walls, the bench, and the floor, waterproofed the shower and floors with Flo FX waterproofing membrane on the dhower walls and thr bench and kerdi uncoupling membrane on the floors, then installing 6” strips of the FloFX membrane around the peremeter and up the walls 2”, built a nice faux ceiling to have a look new exhaust fan with a WiFi speaker built into it, ran the vent out of the side of the house, installed new insulation, new drywall, new vanity with top, primed and painted the ceiling and walls, installed PVC baseboards, new toilet, new faucet, new GFCI, new bathroom accessories, and all new drums and supply lines. This is a European style wet room with a waterfall type of shower head.

We transform these cabinets and the backsplash in this kitchen. These cabinets were in great shape, but they had an out dated look and feel and the homeowner just wasn’t feeling it and wanted to give this kitchen an update without having to remodel the whole kitchen. We took the doors off and drawers out, sanded everything down, primed everything, then we sanded the primed surfaces, we then painted everything, then we added crown molding around the top, caulked the seems, filled the nail holes, and then painted the crown to match. We then sanded the freshly painted surface with a really ring grit and added another layer of paint.

After we finished with updating the cabinets we installed a mosaic tile backsplash. The customer was very happy with how this project turned out.

We are looking to fill our schedule and have immediate openings. We do bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, basement finishings, tile, floors, roofing, decks, privacy fence, painting, and more. If you have a project and want an estimate then feel free to call or text me and schedule an appointment. The number is 5022641514.
