The new steel pedestrian bridge along 26 Mile Road in Washington Township is officially taking shape. Crews have completed the bridge set, which marks a major milestone in connecting the surrounding sidewalk network across the Yates Drain. Once finished, this prefabricated structure will provide a safer, more accessible route for pedestrians and cyclists.

New project alert! We recently began our replacement of the footbridge on the Paint Creek Trail spanning Paint Creek in Rochester MI. What you see here is one of the first steps after demolition: driving steel sheet pile. These sheets form temporary cofferdams that hold back water and soil, creating safe, dry conditions so crews can build the new bridge foundations without disturbing the creek.

Down the road, work will include building geosynthetic reinforced soil abutments, setting the new 70’ x 14’ prefabricated steel truss bridge, and restoring the trail approaches with timber railings, new surface material, and native plantings. Once the project is complete in May 2026, the community will enjoy a wider, safer, and longer-lasting pedestrian bridge that blends into the natural setting while protecting the health of Paint Creek for years to come.

Here’s a special look at our work in Traverse City on the FishPass project led by Spence Brothers. As a subcontractor on the project, GRC wrapped up Phase 1 concrete work, including the headworks, low-flow weir, and labyrinth weir. What you see here is the in-between stage before Phase 2 begins.

For GRC, Phase 2 will include continuing headworks construction, the fish sorting channel, pedestrian bridge abutments, and additional concrete work throughout the bypass channel entrance and attachment grid. Our team will also be installing form liners, embeds, anchorage slots, and specialized concrete finishes as the project moves into full system integration.

These shots were taken just before the concrete deck pour on the new Mackinac Trail bridge over Chub Creek in Rudyard Township. Since then, the pour has been completed — a big step forward on this 125.5-foot single-span bridge replacement. The project improves safety, durability, and water flow while protecting the surrounding environment. More pics to come soon!

Happy Friday everyone! Here’s a fresh look at our Wastewater project in Bellevue 🚧 Crews are hard at work replacing outdated structures and building new systems that will keep the plant running efficiently well into the future. With a new headworks facility, upgraded settling basins, a modern UV disinfection system, and improved solids handling, these upgrades are a big step toward a stronger, more reliable treatment plant for the community.
