Good morning ☀️ December is here! Wow the year has flown by! Tis the season of giving!

So I have been in the solar business for 2-1/2yrs. I’ve learned a lot working with Sunrun. They set me up for success as far as training and the initial learning curve and becoming a great part of the team. They were a great company to learn and grow under. However, they have changed a lot over the past few months, so my time at Sunrun ended. The work there was abundant but limited at the same time.

So I began working for Sun Energy Construction 3 months ago as a sales consultant. Within that 3 months I saw the potential for growth professionally, but didn’t expect to grow so quickly. As of a week ago I was offered a promotion to Texas project manager and I accepted. I will still be selling as well, so if you or anyone you know needs a free quote on anything, please let me know.

This company is part of a greater and much larger company that I have seen great things from so far and look forward to the ever so expanding potential of growth from not only the company but myself too! As well as my sales work not limited like it was at Sunrun. Sun Energy Construction doesn’t just sell solar panel systems and back up power batteries, but we also do roofs, electrical, generators and soon to be HVAC as well.

For those of you that did not have power, let me know if you want to take a look at solar to save you money on your electric bill and battery backup power. Free quote from a neighbor that will make sure you aren’t taken advantage of like these door knockers will do.

BIG NEWS!!!!!

Not only does my company have a partnership with Tesla for the Powerwall2 home backup batteries with solar, but now Ford has also partnered with us!!!!! There new electrical vehicle can be used as a battery backup as well for when the power goes out. And they have partnered with us for the solar panel system component!

The all-electric F-150 Lightning has a targeted EPA-estimated range of 300 miles, zero emissions and available Ford Intelligent Backup Power. Plus, two motors powering the front and rear wheels means almost instant torque for this electric truck.

I am sending you this information for you to check and see if your current electricity provider is still in business or will even be in business for that much longer.

With what just happened in Texas with the freezocalypse, there are a lot of things happening as a result and many electricity companies have gone out of business. Here is just some of the information coming across in the energy industry through what I deal with in the solar industry.

As of 3:05pm Tuesday, CenterPoint Energy said they could not restore power to homes until more electricity is created. will not allow them to bring more customers back online. Centerpoint said customers without power should be prepared to have no power for several more days.

- These conditions in the electric industry mean we will likely start to see some retail electric providers (These are the companies you pay for electrcity.) go out of business. If your electric provider abruptly closes, you will be stuck with what's called the "Provider of Last Resort (POLR)" & an astronomical electric rate of $9 a kilowatt!!

Some electric providers are telling customers to please leave... even offering $100 off their last electric bills to encourage customers to go somewhere else. This is because those companies didn't buy enough electricity to continue to give it to you for the price you agreed to pay. Basically, they ran out... and if they have to buy more now, the electricity will cost them $9000 a megawatt... but because you're under contract, they have to give it to you for pennies. Those businesses can't sustain that... and they will just go under. If you get an offer or warning from your electric company- take it.. switch now. You do not want to be stuck with a provider of last resort.

Right now on the Power to Choose website, there are only about 58 plans for Houstonians to choose from. Usually there are 200+ plans. If your contract is coming up soon, lock in a new one. If you get switched to a variable rate plan, you will also be looking at that $9 a kilowatt rate. That factors out to something like $450 a day for the average homeowner. Multiply $450 by 30... and that would be your electric bill for one month.

Yeah. It stinks. Prepare yourself ... and make sure you are locked in with a fixed rate. Even a high 15 cents a kilowatt right now is better than $9 a kilowatt.
