Founded in 1993, Carolina Heat Pipe is a manufacturing company based in Charleston, SC that grew out of the need to provide an energy efficient dehumidification solution in a climate where a healthy building must control both temperature and humidity to minimize the growth of mold and viruses frequently associated with high levels of humidity. In November of 2001 Carolina Heat Pipe Inc was called

upon to install its Controllable TRAHP™ Dehumidification system at the White House Visitors Center, a 25,000 square foot ballroom where travelers congregate before official tours of the President’s Washington DC home and office. In 2002, CHP garnered Federal recognition by the Department of Commerce as the first South Carolina business to earn an Export Achievement certificate for its work with Italian Shipyard Fincantieri of Trieste, Italy. In November 2004 their systems were incorporated into S C Governor’s Complex Columbia SC to help correct a mold issue.

Richard W. Trent, Carolina Heat Pipe Founder & Chairman of the Board, received recognition with the Fellow Award from ASHRAE at their annual meeting at the beginning of the year. It is a testament to a career defined not just by longevity, but by meaningful impact across the commerical HVAC industry. With more than a decade of standing as a Full Member as only one of the criteri—a member of ASHRAE since 1995—Trent has consistently demonstrated what it means to elevate both the profession and the built environment through dedication, innovation, and leadership.
