Great projects don’t fail at the finish line; they fail at the substrate.

We had the opportunity to join Ashland Construction Company at their Annual Superintendent Meeting at NC State University to talk about something that quietly makes or breaks jobs: substrates, prep, and installation discipline.

From a subcontractor’s perspective, most costly issues we see aren’t product failures, they’re prep failures:
• Out-of-tolerance substrates
• Rushed schedules
• Missed coordination between trades

These are the things that lead to delays, change orders, and callbacks.

Our goal in partnering with GCs isn’t just to install, it’s to help eliminate those problems before they show up on your punch list.

We appreciate Ashland Construction Company for the invitation and the opportunity to collaborate with their team.
