The challenges faced by the transformer industry, as highlighted by Hitachi Energy CEO Andreas Schierenbeck, are a common concern among our customers. Schierenbeck notes that the industry is overwhelmed by the high demand from data centers and renewable energy projects. He warns that this situation is likely to worsen, with utilities potentially waiting up to four years for a transformer if they haven’t already secured a reservation.

As lead times continue to increase, remanufacturing has emerged as a viable solution to bypass the long wait times that many in our industry face when planning for the next 5 to 10 years. We offer remanufacturing services for vintage units, returning them to our partners within 15 months. For some, remanufacturing is preferred due to the excellent performance of their vintage units over many decades. For others, it addresses the time constraints that OEMs cannot currently meet.
