We are starting to receive calls asking about the Pacific Power Cool Keeper Program that was included with your bill. We called the number below and asked the following questions; will installing the device void my manufacturers warranty? (I was told yes with some manufacturers, not all ). If activated what's the real down time? ( We have been told the average overall is 7 minutes the longest was a bit over 30 minutes. None have been done in Oregon as the program is new here). Is this device installed to save me money or Pacific Power money? ( I was told Pacific Power, but if Pacific Power saves money it is passed onto the customer). Whose installing the device? ( I was told 3rd party contractor from out of state, with Pacific Power logo gear).

The new technology of air conditioners and heat pump units, such as high efficiency modulating, variable speed or multi stage equipment may not be compatible with the Cool Keeper Program. Due to this being a non manufacturer specified add on to your equipment, we would expect this to void manufacturer parts warranties. Most equipment has a 10 year parts warranty for original purchaser and a 5 year parts warranty for non original purchaser of equipment.
