Kalona Organics is the legal name of the company that makes the Kalona SuperNatural "BEYOND Organic" dairy brand. Please follow our Kalona SuperNatural page to learn more.

Being USDA Certified Organic means the government certifies that our farms never use GMOs, herbicides, or pesticides and take decent care of our animals.

BUT THE TRUTH IS that many "Organic" products that get USDA certified still come from large herds of cows on big corporate farms where they still are fed a lot of grain and not really given the outdoor environment that is best for them.

That is why we consider the USDA Organic standards the ***minimum*** in terms of what is needed for the health of the cows, your family, and our planet.

Kalona SuperNatural goes "BEYOND ORGANIC" in these ways:

Our milk is from...
- Grass-fed Cows
- Pasture-grazed on
- Small Family Farms that
- Meet USDA Organic Standards and
- Use Regenerative Farming Practices*

*"Organic" means we don't poison the earth and animals. "Regenerative" means our farms actively use methods to rebuild healthier soil, water and air.

*In fact, we are in the process of getting our brand certified through the Savory Institute's Land to Market program, and will be serving as a Savory Institute Hub to train and certify other farms that want to use regenerative and holistic farming practices.

NEXT...

Once our farms have produced milk the most natural way possible, we then do as little to the milk as possible in terms of processing.

Note that the source of our milk and doing these 3 things means that our milk is different than 99% of milk sold in the US

(1) We pasteurize our milk at the lowest temperature allowed by law. Our method is called VAT or Batch-Pasteurized. We NEVER use Ultra-High Temperature Pasteurized the way many other organic and even grass-fed dairies are doing. UHT involves heating milk to 280 degrees Fahrenheit!!!

(2) We do NOT homogenize our milk. Our "Non-homogenized" milk allows the cream to separate into a delicious Cream-Top.

What this basically means is that we don't smash the cream into a million tiny particles under thousands of pounds of pressure. Many of our customers believe non-homogenized milk is more easily recognized by our bodies systems and so is easier to digest.

(3) We avoid additives, preservatives, and stabilizers (except when required by law or absolutely necessary.)

This is complicated stuff and actually very expensive and hard to do, but we believe 'doing less' is 'better."

Again, this makes our milk different than 99% of milk sold in the USA - and since you are here and still reading, how we make our products probably matches your values.

Have you tried our dairy products?

Have you noticed the difference?

If you love them, please let other folks know.

If you want to try them, you can find a store on the Store Locator page at KalonaSuperNatural.com

If you can't find them at your favorite store, we'll help you request them.

Thank you for taking the time to understand the difference and sharing your story here with us - as well as with your followers, family and friends.

Do you shop at Sprouts Farmers Market? Our "Beyond Organic" Cottage Cheese and Sour Cream is now available at Sprouts. What does "Beyond Organic" mean? The cow knows :)

ORGANIC IS NOT ENOUGH. Do you think the organic foods you buy should go “Beyond” the USDA Organic standards?

We can do better for cows, your family and our planet.

USDA Organic Certification standards mostly relate to basic animal welfare and not poisoning the earth with chemicals.

That’s important but we also need to go beyond that to use Regenerative Farming practices that rebuild the soil & biodiversity as well as help clean our water and air.

Then all we need to do is not engage in heavy processing of our food that destroys it’s natural goodness! :)

Does your favorite store sell Organic food from Regenerative Farms that is only minimally processed?

Kalona SuperNatural is now working on getting our small dairy farms regenerative certified by the Savory Institute’s Land to Market Program. We will also serve as a Savory Institute Hub which means we will be able to train other food producers on how to implement these practices.

Going “Beyond Organic” when it comes to our milk is the foundation of all our products and especially two favorites now available at Sprouts Farmers Market.

Our Organic Cottage Cheese & Sour Cream starts with:

+ Grass-fed cows
+ Pasture-grazed on
+ Small Family Farms that use
+ Regenerative Farming Practices

Then, we keep the milk the way nature intended it to be:

+ Non-homogenized for a delicious Cream-Top
+ Pasteurized at the lowest possible temperature
+ Minimally processed with no stabilizers or thickeners

ORGANIC COTTAGE CHEESE includes 4% Milkfat; is made with all Organic Ingredients except the delicious Celtic Sea Salt(R); and has 14 grams of Protein per serving. It’s Keto diet friendly too.

ORGANIC SOUR CREAM is also minimally processed with no stabilizers, cultured with probiotics, and contains Live & Active Cultures. It’s Keto-friendly too.

If you like Sour Cream or Cottage Cheese these will be your next obsession :)

Have you tried Kalona SuperNatural Beyond Organic dairy products?
