Wednesday’s seven-day average of new daily cases, 301,000, was a new daily record for COVID cases in the US. In the past week, more than two million cases have been reported nationally.

The rise in cases has been driven by the highly contagious Omicron variant, which became dominant in the United States as of last week. We have also seen a sharp rise in hospitalizations in the past week as more patients are admitted for treatment.

Even though the Omicron version seems to cause a milder version, the signs should not be ignored. The next round of mutations could take a turn in the wrong direction and we would be faced with a larger issue. the longer this hangs around the more likely it is to spin off a more severe version over time.

I feel that it is very important to understand CADR and why some units that are marketed just dont have the horsepower to deliver as promised. Our units here at IAQuality are backed by real numbers and real delivery rates!

The Clean Air Delivery Rate is an established standard defined by the independent Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) in the U.S. Performance is certified and verified by an independent laboratory. AHAM uses CADR to assure residential consumers that an air purifier will perform according to the manufacturer’s product claims and helps shoppers easily identify which air cleaners work better than others.

CADR measures an air cleaner's effectiveness based on room space and the volume of clean air produced per minute. This shows how well dust, pollen and smoke, the three most common indoor air pollutants are removed from the air you breathe.

For the T-2700 CADR rating is:

· Running at 20% the volume of air the unit delivers is 960 cubic feet per minute (CFM) (as shown in table 1)
· Using a room size of 900 square feet with eight foot high ceilings
· The desired CADR is 2/3 of 900 square feet which is 600 CFM, which is well within the capabilities of the unit.
· The T-2700 unit will deliver 8 air changes per hour at this volume
· And the time it takes for T-2700 to clean a 900sqft room 8 min.

The R number is a way of rating a virus or any diseases ability to spread. R is the number of people that one infected person will pass on a virus to.
- As an example the R-Naught number for the original COVID was 3. Simply explained for every one person that contracted COVID would spread the virus to 3 others.
- The Delta strain of COVID has a R-Naught number of about 8. Simply explained that for every one person that contracted COVID would spread the virus to 8 others. (this strain circled the globe in a mater of months infecting Millions)
- The New Omicron virus is currently trending to be be 5-6 times more infectious than the delta virus and is currently infecting people at an incredible rate.

We have been watching the indoor air quality in a brand new development. The reality of the matter is that the people in the building are living mostly in levels of VOC's that have the following recommendations:

1. Use only if unavoidable/Intense ventilation necessary.
2. Exposure limit HOURS.
3. Hygienic Rating Situation not Acceptable
4. Level 5 Unhealthy

It is astounding that all the homeowners have no real visibility to what they are being exposed to and we are seeing the same trend to many times.
