Mobile solar panels take on an entirely new meaning! With the help of a tiny solar-powered radio tag, scientists can now track individual monarch butterflies as they migrate from North America to their overwintering colonies in central Mexico. It's a breakthrough for research of these beautiful pollinators. Learn more via The New York Times at

Scientists used tiny new sensors to follow the insects on journeys that take thousands of miles to their winter colonies in Mexico.

This National Farmer’s Day, we’re celebrating the farmers who plow, sow, grow, and harvest.

Across our solar projects, we work with landowners to farm a new kind of crop: the sun. We've taken it a step further—planting pollinator habitats, harvesting honey, and growing crops between the rows of solar panels. It’s a living example of how solar and agriculture can thrive side by side.

Join us in thanking the farmers who power our plates and our planet.

Savion’s Madison Fields Solar Project features restored Ohio Prairie with seeds sourced from the Little Darby Creek watershed, offering habitat for the region’s pollinators, including native pollinators who support our unique plant life.🐝🌱

On other parts of the site, vegetation like white clover and soybeans serves as food for the honeybees – as well as serving as agricultural commodities like forage and livestock feed.
