Noland's Cylinder Head Service Automotive Machine Shop We are a machine shop specializing in cylinder heads of all kinds. We are a family business that has been on Charlotte Street since 1947.

We repair cracked heads, do performance/racing work, valve jobs pressure testing, resurfacing, thread repair, welding and most other services needed for cylinder heads.

Trick Flow LS3 heads. Got all new Trick flow intake valves and REV LS7 inconel exhaust valves for boost. New PAC 1209x springs shimmed to a custom height for .650” lift with 25+lbs boost. We did a performance valve job and gave them a proper surface finish.

Nissan Billet heads bound for Dubai.
These gorgeous custom billet Nissan heads needed the cam journals finished to size and apparently the million $$ machine that built them can’t do that so they sent them across the the country to me after the owner in Dubai contacted me. One head is a two piece design and I cut a spare top for it. Had to endmill the top of the heads in a coule places in the mill to clearance for the line bore machine. Spent about 30 hours on the line bore machine getting the cam clearance perfect. There are reasons few people do this.

Digging up some old job that should be shared. Saved a 1927 American LeFrance Fire Truck. There were cracks all over two of three 2 cyl sections. We brought our old welder out of retirement for this one. The welding job is a miracle! We found a way to cut the seats and had some guides custom made. Owner found someone to make valve springs for it. My dad had countless hours installing thread inserts in some holes thst seemed to be a custom thread pitch that bolts don’t exsist anymore. Also stiched some cracks with lock n stitch plugs. Pic of the truck is off google for reference.

Should probably post some American muscle. Here are some old NASCAR heads we brought back to life. Had to have custom Titanium valves by Racing Engine Valves made and get some monster triple springs to handle .800” lift camshaft. Valve job is very tricky on these type heads with 50 degree seat angles. I hope it’s out there screaming at 9000 RPM out there somewhere.

Finished up all 8 of the RB Nissan Skyline heads i had in the shop. This RB26DETT and a RB25 Neo were my two favorite builds. This one got fully ported by JPI Cylinder Heads, tjen we installed bronze GSC guides, GSC inconel exhaust valves, reused the Manley intakes. GSC S3 DLC cams with Kelford DLC coated one piece lifters. High pressure GSC conical spring kit. Had to cut reliefs in the head to clear the camshafts. Did an amazing performance valve job blended with the porting. Resurfaced and adjusted all valves for propper valve lash for new cams.

Building 8 different Nissan RB26/RB25 Skyline heads right now! Some stock builds and some getting all bronze guides, stainless valves, spring kits and Cams from Kelford, GSC, and Tomei. Got one done! It will take me weeks to get all these put together especially the RB26 and Neo heads that need valve adjustment for solid lifters.
