Introducing Zach Pixler!

Zach began working as a scientist at GPA Labs in 2023 and has been a vital member of our heavy metals team ever since! As one of his coworkers put it, “though he is quiet, he is brilliant, and can make even the most serious of people laugh.” Thank you, Zach, for all of your hard work!

“My coworkers!”

“Several people in my life have benefited from the medicinal qualities of ma*****na including relieving anxiety and helping with sleep issues.”

“Not so much a single blunt rotation, but three activities I want to do with specific people and while under the influence: watch movies with Kevin Smith, play D&D with Matt Mercer, and listen to music with Neil Peart.”

MEET THE TEAM: September 2024 Edition

Introducing Jeremy Denton!

Jeremy joined our GPA team as a Field Sampling Technician last year, and has been a valuable member ever since. With his attention to detail and hard-working, can-do attitude in the field, Jeremy helps our lab consistently produce timely and accurate test results.

Q/A

1. What do you love most about your job?

“Apart from being an essential part of the cannabis industry which is a benefit in and of itself (I’ve wanted to work with cannabis as long as I can remember), I would say two things - first, GPA feels like a family to me. Everyone here is a good person and that’s extremely rare for any job. Second, I enjoy talking and working with the clients. You get a little bit of all types of people, and can share stories and maybe make someone’s day a little brighter or easier, and you get that back as well. It’s great.”

2. How has ma*****na and/or h**p made a difference in your life and/or the lives of people you care about?

“I have bad anxiety issues. I have a hard time just going to the store. I also have a genetic disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which causes issues with the soft tissue and joints in my body, which as you can imagine is pretty painful basically all the time. Cannabis has been a MASSIVE help with controlling the pain without having to resort to far more dangerous pain medication, and allows me to kind of calm down enough when I know I have to be around strangers to feel comfortable in my own skin.”

3. Who are you inviting to join your “dream blunt rotation” (aka “who would you invite to a dinner party?”)

“Carl Sagan, pro-wrestling and MMA legend Minoru Suzuki, and Aleister Crowley. Now that’s an interesting group of people lol.”

MEET THE TEAM: July 2024 Edition

Introducing Hannah Constance!

Hannah has been a valuable member of the GPA team since she started as an Analytical Scientist back in 2021! She has since become a Lead Scientist within the laboratory. Hannah’s coworkers have praised her ability to multi-task and assist others throughout the laboratory. Hannah is also known for her great sense of humor and work ethic. Thanks, Hannah!

1. What do you love most about your job?

“I love that we get to be on the forefront of making sure cannabis is safe for consumption. I want cannabis and all its manufactured products to be able to grow in popularity for all of its unique medical benefits, without being stunted by the presence of harmful substances. It’s important to me that those who need or want to consume cannabis know we do everything we can to make it safe. I also love all the knowledge I have gained about cannabis and cannabis testing in my time here at GPA. Cannabis science is such a growing industry and new information is always coming up. I love that I am able to put all of this information into practice and that we are able to grow with the industry as well.”

2. How has ma*****na and/or h**p made a difference in your life and/or the lives of people you care about?

“Cannabis has made a difference in my life due to its ability to calm my mind. I have struggled with anxiety for a long time and most conventional medications left me with pretty intolerable side effects. Cannabis is able to provide me the ability to calm my mind and relax when I feel like everything is whirling around me, without the negative side effects I had delt with previously.”

3. Who are you inviting to join your “dream blunt rotation” (aka “who would you invite to a dinner party?”)

“Robin Williams, Trey Parker, and Matt Stone. I love comedy and grew up with Robin Williams. He was a very talented actor and fun/funny comedian. I feel like there wouldn’t be a dull moment thoughout the night. As far as Trey and Matt, I have a deep love for their satire as I have a bit for dark humor myself. I feel like it would be hilarious to hear them use all their South Park voices throughout the night too.”

Introducing Maria Marsala!

Maria joined GPA Labs in January 2022 as a Field Sampling Technician (FST) and has been a vital member of the GPA team ever since! Since then, she has transitioned to a laboratory-based role assisting our team of scientists by tracking sample inventory. No matter the task at hand, Maria brings a smile and a sense of humor to tackle the job. Thank you for all the joy you bring to work each day, Maria!

1. What do you love most about your job?

“There are many things I love about my job and the multiple positions I’ve worked during the time I’ve been at GPA… I would say what I love most about this job is the clients I have met and the people I work with. I was fortunate enough to start as an FST driving all over this beautiful state and meeting all the lovely clients we service. Being able to see the many different cultivators and manufacturers in Missouri in all the different towns was truly amazing and the coolest job I’ve ever had. Working in the lab has also been very educational and I feel lucky to work for this growing company. I cannot wait to see how much bigger this company gets!”

2. How has ma*****na and/or h**p made a difference in your life and/or the lives of people you care about?

“Cannabis has always been a huge part of my life, growing up in Colorado it was always like a way of life, being seen as medicine and therapeutic. It wasn’t until I moved to Missouri in 2011 that I truly felt spoiled by Colorado, since Missouri wasn’t a medical state until 2020 I had waited a long time to work legally with cannabis. I have always seen cannabis as a medicinal herb that benefits others and myself for many reasons. Cannabis makes a positive difference in my life every day.”

“I would choose Kurt Cobain, Jenji Kohan, and Carlos Santana to get ripped with FO SHO.”

“I love the people I work with, we have the best team at GPA! Also being able to provide patients with clean medicine is gratifying and getting to see firsthand how the industry develops in Missouri has been very rewarding to me.”

“Cannabis has been a passion of mine for many years and getting to contribute to the industry in my home state has been very fulfilling as a career. I have nothing but good things to say about how cannabis has impacted my life and the ones I care about.”

1. What do you love most about your job?

“I think what I love most about my job is the stellar people that I get to work with and meet, we have a really great team here at GPA! The industry that we work in is also very unique and still exponentially growing, so getting to be a part of it and continually learning is something that I enjoy.”

2. How has ma*****na and/or h**p made a difference in your life and/or the lives of people you care about?

“Cannabis has always been my more holistic choice for alleviating stress and anxiety. Since working here, I have been able to further educate the people in my life about the benefits of it as well. So far, they are amazed at the power that cannabis has and I have gotten enthusiastic responses.”

“I love seeing all the new products in this industry that haven’t been released yet. It’s also just a really fun atmosphere, where everyone is so friendly and chill.”

“Cannabis has helped relieve stress and anxiety for many people in my life, including myself. I’m thankful we have a natural alternative to synthetically-made medications.”
