Tim Cowden, president and CEO of the Kansas City Area Development Council, recently discussed Kansas City's upward trajectory and the crucial role KC Global Design firms play in the region's success.

• Design for half of the world's sports arenas originates in KC
• The KC region's $24 billion A/E/C industry employs 70,000 people
• KC companies have designed water systems for 15% of the global population

"In 50 years, people are going to look back at this time and go, 'Look at all the things that happened in that really set us up for success,'" KCADC CEO Tim Cowden said at a Friday event.
