Real-Tite Plugs Owned by SIOUX CHIEF. Plumbing, expansion & clean-out plugs for water lines in industrial, commercial, municipal & residential applications. Mr.

Contractors, property managers, & all non wholesale & retail customers can order directly on our E-Shop website. Now owned by SIOUX CHIEF. The Real-Tite® plug was developed by a service man, James W. Tholen, who worked in the field, managed a crew of 15, and saw a need for a better way to access a water line. A patent was granted and another company was started, Real-Tite Plugs, Inc. Tholen’s entrepreneurial success and business’ covered all areas of waterworks, infrastructure, and real-estate development. He and his wife raised 8 children, was a big game hunter, operated a fully stocked trout pond on the family hobby farm in Northern Minnesota, grew apple trees, harvested honey and taught his kids to love animals. He said, “…if you want horses”, which the kids all grew up with, “you will clean the stalls”. Through these actions, James taught his kids responsibility, the value of a dollar, and instilled a strong work ethic. Real-Tite Plugs was a small company by choice. It was not about rapid growth or extreme financial gain, but quality of life and care for employees. Tholen believed in the 3 – P’s of business, People, Product and Process (Marcus Lemonis/The Profit) long before the phrase became a business phenomenon. The company continued to grow by customers telling customers. In 2006, inventor and founder, James W. Tholen passed away. The company entered into the second generation at this time with the purchase of the company by his daughter in February, 2006. “We are committed to continuing the legacy of the Real-Tite® products for decades to come. As long as there is water to control, we will thrive.” Carol Tholen Lins
The REAL-TITE® product line offers a variety of sizes (1.5″ to 4″ diameters in 1/2″ increments), styles (counter sunk, thumb bolt or hex head) and finishes (ABS plastic, 12GA stainless steel or 22GA chrome finishing covers).
