βοΈ AC Not Cooling? Try These Quick Checks Before Calling for Service!
1οΈβ£ Check Your Fan
Turn your thermostat from COOL to OFF. Then switch the fan setting from AUTO to ON.
β
If the indoor fan starts running, that's a good sign.
β If the fan does not come on, your system may have a power issue, a control problem, or a failed motor. In this case, give us a call to schedule a service visit.
2οΈβ£ Check the Outdoor Unit
If the indoor fan is running, switch your thermostat back to COOL and see if the outdoor unit turns on.
3οΈβ£ Check Your Air Filter
If you hear the system running but little or no air is coming from the vents, inspect your air filter.
β οΈ A dirty filter can restrict airflow and cause your system to freeze up.
If you suspect the unit is frozen:
β’ Turn the system OFF
β’ Remove or replace the dirty filter
β’ Allow the system to thaw for at least 4 hours before turning it back on
