The Technical Sales Associate works within the GEO team to promote Green Energy Options’ mission, philosophy, products and services to the public. This position provides technical sales to our customers both in the GEO showroom and on-site at our customer’s homes. By conducting personalized site visits, this role ensures that we help our customers choose the product that uniquely fits their home’s needs and follows up promptly with quotes and information. The Green Energy Options Technical Sales Associate ensures that GEO customers receive exceptional customer service and follow-up, and is critical to our goal of 100% customer satisfaction. As a part of the GEO team, this role assists all aspects of the business, as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Showroom Sales and Education:
Work regularly scheduled showroom hours, and as needed
Provide sales, customer service and technical support for all business categories (Hearth, Mini-Split, Solar, Composting)
Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized retail showroom
Maintain proficiency in point of sale software/inventory database
Answer incoming calls, return voicemails
Research and sell parts & accessories
Schedule site visits, service, and installations
Coordinate customer orders and pickups
Take payment for deposits / process in-store purchases
Hearth and Heating
Provide technical sales, education and advice
Provide technical support and trouble-shoot issues, solicit vendor feedback, as needed to ensure a solution
Conduct site visits
Prepare and follow up on quotes and orders
Mini Split
Provide technical sales, education and advice

Qualifications for the position of Technical Sales and Service Associate:
Works well with a team to promote Green Energy Options’ mission, philosophy, products and services to the public;
Is technically inclined, has experience burning a wood stove and understands basic combustion and heat transfer principles. Experience with operating pellet stoves and gas stoves is also helpful as well as a basic knowledge of electrical systems;
Has an aptitude for reading technical schematics and manuals to problem solve and look up replacement parts on illustrated diagrams;
Is eager to learn new things and excited to help out where needed;
Is energetic, confident, highly organized, personable, disciplined, self motivated, able to interact with a wide range of personalities;
Has a commitment to excellence, quality and a strong work ethic;
Has a sales mindset, is polite and open when meeting customers, eager to give each customer as much helpful information for them to understand their home’s unique heating requirements;
Can be counted on to work scheduled hours;
Has a warm telephone manner and writing skills to take detailed, legible phone messages as well as respond to emails;
Can lift 50 pounds;
Has a valid driver’s license;
Has a willingness to grow in specific competencies.
