Classy!
A project with a good friend. Very fun to see her loving her beautiful new home. She was concered about the size of spaces. The function and ease of movement in and around the house. We weren't sure about the larger entryway but she loves it. We paid close attention to the dining room, leaving enough space to have people sitting at the table, up to the island and still being able to walk behind everybody. My favorite features are the doors into laundry from the closet and then into the master bathroom and the hidden pantry. Peninsula builders built this one.

Deserving:
Love the story of this house. The owner is a sweet and hardworking little lady. Her trailer house on this lot was burned to the ground while she was on vacation. This is the replacement home. "I never thought that I would live in a real house!" I've never had such a thankful client, she often shed a few tears as she watched this home go up.

River house
This place is built so close to the river that it has to be built on stilts to get it above the floodline. The river floods every spring during "breakup" when the ice start melting and makes ice dams. Houses here are required to have confluence which allows the water to run under the house. This subdivision has canals that go out the the Kenai River so many of the lots can have their own boat dock.

One of my new favorite features is in this beautiful new home. The walk through cabinet into the pantry. The first picture is an example. There is also a 3 foot space between the upper and lower banks of living room windows so that there is a place to hang mounts. Schrock construction did a fine job.

Bold and blue.
This one is a compact footprint with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a laundry on the 2nd floor. The living room is 2 stories high with extra structure in the ceiling for the silks hanging all the way down.

Current favorite house in Alaska
Love this little cabin tucked in behind a rock rock shelf in Doroshin Bay. Built by a miner and later used by hunters and trappers, it is a little haven in a wild land. We can only rent it on calm days so the boat can make it safely across the lake but we love waking up to the birdsong and mountain reflections.

Mirror the mountains
Love all the peaks on this house. The land slopes away from the back of the house to an impressive view of Mount Redoubt. The bedrooms upstairs and the living, dining and kitchen are at the back of the house to enjoy that view, especially through the 8 foot tall, 3 panel sliding glass doors. Floor trusses allow for a large open family room in the walkout basement and ease of electrical and plumbing through the floor system.

This beautiful office building was the inspiration of a client's custom home last year. The clean modern feel and cool greys are warmed by the use of the timber beams columns and siding. Classy!
This year, someone called, they had flown over the newly built house and liked it.

Lakeview loft
A loft that is open to the living room below was important to this family. We added a clerestory row of windows so the lake could be seen better from that loft. The back has a covered recessed patio to enjoy in any weather. They designed the fireplace and shelving around it with the stairs going up behind. Love the effect.
