Air quality. This has become a bit of an obsession of mine after being a part of a project a few years back with
New building codes have changed some of the requirements for how our homes ā€œbreatheā€. Thereā€™s much debate on this topic and Iā€™d be happy to discuss it with you in the comments or DM me.

We got our blower door test done a month or so ago and while it wasnā€™t as tight as weā€™ve built in the past it is still more than 2x tighter than code requires. And meets Energy Star rating as this house has achieved.

The second photo shows my air quality monitoring device. Hit me up if you wanna know what device Iā€™m using. It monitors a lot but right now just looking at the CO2 levels. My ERV controls the amount of fresh air that enters the house. It is setup perfect for normal occupancy. We added three guests for a day and you can see how the CO2 levels rise. High CO2 is not good for you if you didnā€™t know that already. The levels returned to normal when the guests left but next time I will be bumping my ERV timer up when having guests over. Thereā€™s some really cool technology out there that can automatically adjust for these changes and that might go into the next house.
