How does High-Pressure Gas Lift work?
HPGL works by increasing the gas-liquid ratio within the wellbore to reduce the weight of the fluid column.
Compressed natural gas is injected down the production tubing to the end of tubing, where it mixes with the oil, water and formation gas already in the well.
As the gas-liquid ratio increases, the fluid column becomes lighter. This reduces bottomhole pressure and allows the reservoir to move fluids toward the surface more efficiently.
Produced fluids then return to the surface through the annulus.
By injecting gas at the end of tubing, HPGL provides lift from deeper in the wellbore and can support accelerated drawdown during the early stages of production.
