It was a brisk -37 in Killdeer today hahah so I put a heater in the booth to bring the metal up to 73*. With openings at the top I put a fan at the bottom and it acts like a down draft paint booth and I made an overspray sock out of some window coverings and we got the staircase primed and ready for paint in the morning!!!

With the bearings on the ends and everything welded and cleaned up I sweat the grease out of the wire rope and cleaned everything again to get rid of the oil then I cut the post to length and fab up the adjustable leg!!!!

The top rail is a 1 1/2” 6x19 right hand regular lay bright wire rope with a breaking strength of 114 tons and does not bend very easy uuuuugggg hahahah but I didn’t give up!!!! Hahaha with everything tacked in place the welding can be done!!!
