Join us on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Green Meadow Country Club for a meaningful day of golf, community, and giving back.

This tournament is more than a day on the course. It is an opportunity to honor the legacy of Jim Wakefield and Grant Bryant, two men whose leadership, service, and commitment to our community continue to have a lasting impact on The Wakefield Corporation.

We are proud to continue this tradition of giving back, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital. We invite our friends, partners, vendors, and community members to be part of this special event.

The Wakefield Corporation was honored to serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2026 Dolly Parton Children's Hospital Golf Classic at Fox Den Country Club.

This year’s tournament brought together 61 teams and 244 golfers from across East Tennessee and raised more than $227,000 to support the life-changing care, programs, and services provided by Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital for children and families throughout our region.

This event was especially meaningful to The Wakefield Corporation as we participated in memory of Grant Bryant. Grant dedicated more than 30 years to The Wakefield Corporation and devoted countless hours supporting local organizations, including Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital and many other charitable causes throughout our community. His legacy of leadership, generosity, and service continues to inspire our company every day.

We are grateful to the event organizers, sponsors, volunteers, golfers, and community partners who helped make this tournament such a tremendous success. Supporting the children and families of East Tennessee is something we are deeply proud to be part of.

We are deeply honored to share that The Wakefield Corporation was able to accept a very special recognition on behalf of our founder, James K “Jim” Wakefield III.

Great Smoky Mountain Council, Scouting America(formerly Boy Scouts of America) recognized Jim as an Iconic Leader, honoring his lifelong impact on leadership, character, and citizenship for young people across East Tennessee. February 26, 2025-February 26, 2026, marks the 110th anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountain Council, and they have been recognizing 110 Iconic Leaders throughout the year. As a company rooted in service, this recognition carries deep meaning for our entire Wakefield family.

Jim founded The Wakefield Corporation in 1986, building the company on the values of Service, Integrity, Quality, and Excellence. He believed the most important part of this industry was not just the projects themselves, but the people served inside the buildings — and the people who make the work happen.

Jim passed away on February 15, 2016, but his legacy continues through the team and the family who carry his vision forward every day.

His wife, Neala Wakefield, and his children, Erin Wakefield Mahan (CEO) and Jamie Wakefield(Director of Operations), were honored to accept this award on his behalf, alongside Erin’s husband TJ Mahan and Erin’s daughter Samantha Brownlee.

We are grateful for this recognition and for the continued work of the Great Smoky Mountain Council in developing young leaders through Scouting across our region.

We are honored to share that The Wakefield Corporation was named Subcontractor of the Year at the 2026 Build Knoxville Awards hosted by Associated General Contractors of Tennessee in Knoxville.

This event was especially meaningful for us, as our CEO, Erin Wakefield Mahan, had the privilege of co-hosting the evening alongside Chad Martin of TIS Insurance. It was a night dedicated to recognizing the outstanding builders, partners, and industry leaders who continue to shape Knoxville’s growth and excellence.
We are deeply grateful to AGC of Knoxville for this recognition and to Executive Director John Ewart for his leadership and commitment to supporting the construction community in our region.

This award reflects the hard work, craftsmanship, and dedication of our entire Wakefield team, as well as the trust our clients and partners place in us every day. We are proud to be part of building Knoxville.

For everyone who met him he left a lasting impression. If you were lucky enough to work along side him he left a lesson or an imprint. But at the very least he left a smile and a legacy he helped carry on from Dad. He helped train and mentor me, he has trained and mentored our 3rd generation, and we are a better company because of him. This has been a heavy week. We have gone through the motions, we have done all the work; it has just taken a little bit more to push through. But we will, because Grant and Big Jim expect nothing less. And because Together We Can and Together We Will.
