Would like to see a multitude of HVAC contractors, distributors dealers and homeowners file a class action lawsuit against the EPA and the DOE for this abortion that they've created with the change over to 454 B and R 32 refrigerant. This would probably be the only way that this atrocity could be reversed for the protection of the distributor the dealer and especially the homeowner.. refrigerant to run. The new specified refrigerant is over $800 for 20 pounds in a drum, along with all the other restrictions for even to be able to store this refrigerant in vans and in buildings... we have tried to contact the EPA and DOE to express our concerns, the ultimate and is that if this continues will be air-conditioning for the public will be completely unaffordable. Please write your state congressman and senators to convey this as it is completely against the homeowner for the hopes that it is more atmospheric and green energy efficient....
I hope we can get some traction from this, but as it stands right now when 1000 drums of this refrigerant is needed the industry is receiving about 20... this will affect new homes for all manufacturers and all consumers...

Tranes new refrigerant 454b is $400 +
Per drum… This a government mandated change from 410a. The government says it’s better for the environment…. They just doubled the cost of refrigerant for consumers.
