⚠️Scheduled Power Outage – Friday, May 15 ⚠️

Rockwood Electric Utility has a scheduled outage at its Kingston Substation beginning at 5:00 AM on Friday, May 15th. The outage is expected to last less than one hour. This is the final, planned outage at this time in order to complete testing, inspection, and maintenance at the Kingston Substation.
If you are part of the Bluff Road area and have not been affected by previously scheduled outages, you will be affected by this one. We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding throughout this process. We are excited to have this work completed to help ensure a more reliable power supply.

⚠️ Outage Postponed – Kingston Area ⚠️

Due to the threat of severe weather headed our way, and the uncertainty as to when it will enter our service territory. Rockwood Electric Utility has made the decision to postpone the planned maintenance outage with TVA that was scheduled to begin tonight at midnight in the Kingston area.

The safety of our employees and our community is our top priority. We want to ensure our crews remain fully available to respond to any unplanned outages that may occur as a result of the incoming storms.

At the present time, our plans are to reschedule this outage beginning at 11:00PM this coming Wednesday evening so that we can be through shortly after midnight.

🚨 Planned Outage Notice (WEATHER PERMITTING)– Kingston Area 🚨

Rockwood Electric Utility and TVA will have a planned outage (weather permitting) at the Kingston Substation during the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 28th from 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM. This outage is necessary to transfer load to a mobile transformer in order to take the existing transformer out of service for testing, inspection, and maintenance. This maintenance is necessary to ensure continued reliability of the electric service.

If you were affected by the previously scheduled outages in the Kingston area, this outage will affect you.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to maintain and improve our system. If weather prohibits REU from having the outage, it will be re-scheduled, most likely at the next available opportunity.

Currently, only 258 of the nation's more than 2,000 public power utilities hold an RP3 designation that recognizes them for providing communities with the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service.
