If you see these fellers around the SoKno Waterfront district, please don't feed them. We are trying to trap them and get them neutered. We have an appointment to do this next week, if we can catch them. We've been following advice from Feral Feline Friends and the Young Williams Clinic. I want them to be hungry and coming around our shop for food every morning. So please don't feed them. Let us do it, as a way to trap them. When they visit (most mornings, one or more come by), they are fine walking to the back of the 3 traps we have out for them, to get to the food. For now, we have the door wired to stay open so they will go in regularly.
If we can trap them, YW will give them a physical, neuter them, de- worm them, give them a rabies shot and more. They will be held overnight ( inside our shop) to allow the anesthesia to wear off and then be released to our lot, where they often hang out for long portions of a day. We'll continue to try to socialize them and find homes for them after we get them "fixed".
Yes, we've named them, but that's just part of trying to socialize them. From left to right, Peachy, Ginger, and Nicolas Thomas. I'm sure they would adapt to any name you want to call them, should you want to be permanent caretakers.
Please share if you are in the hood here. We are trying to limit further ferals.
