GT Machining and Design is committed to identifying cost-saving opportunities for our customers, allowing them to maximize their profit margins. In the case of Art Cycles, we streamlined the process by combining two setups and eliminating the need for single-part processing in the lathe during the final step. This optimization yielded a win-win outcome for both companies!!!

30 seconds vs under 8 seconds!!! GT Machining and Design provides complimentary production evaluations to companies within a 100-mile radius, analyzing their product manufacturing processes to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement. Recently, I collaborated with a wiring harness company to optimize production time for a high-volume wiring harness. We developed two time-saving fixtures that decreased production time and increased product consistency. Due to confidentiality, I can only showcase one of the fixtures. This fixture reduced the time required to measure and cut wire from 30 seconds, using three tools, to under 8 seconds with a single tool. The 22-second reduction may seem minor, but it translates to significant time savings when producing thousands of harnesses. Furthermore, the consistent wire cut length accelerates the assembly process in subsequent stages.

This thing works awesome!!!

Something I’ve learned early in this new machine shop world is you have to be creative! It was it’s been a challenge holding hex material in the lathe for turning. There’s stuff out there to purchase but it’s very expensive and for a brand new shop that’s no where close to being on their feet it just didn’t make sense at the moment. Me and Andrew designed this and it works great!!!
