Employee reminder…
Your boss has to make a thousand promises a day, to real people, and your job security depends on that boss guaranteeing they are all kept. With or without your help. That is a different feeling that you may not appreciate as an employee. Until your name and reputation are tested every day all day,(not to mention the income of everyone in the company), I’m not certain you fully understand what weight is often on their shoulders. Jobs don’t just appear out of thin air. Someone has to sweat for everyone. That’s the give and take you need not concern yourself with as an employee. I thank every employee, everyday, just for showing up. I also pay the wage without argument. It’s rare they thank me for selling my soul to create the work. I wake up with work on my mind and I try to sleep with work on my mind. There is no personal life to mention. Try to remember that when you find yourself resentful towards your employer. Clocking out is a luxury they don’t have knowing their employees(and customers) are counting on them. I can’t look at a machine or material pile or residential home without considering the cost, labor, liability, or loan payment, or logistics associated with its existence.
