Kerry Stinnett began his love for all things metal in 1979 . His career training started at West Ky. Vocational School in the welding program . Having quickly passed through all of the course with flying colors ,it was time to go to work .It was off to Texas to work as welder on projects ,such as the South Texas Nuclear Project . Passing the certification test to weld in a nuclear plant at age 19
,he was on his way to living his dream . He began training to become an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector .Courses were taken at Brazos Sport College in Non Destructive Testing ,and American Petroleum Institutes a.p.i. 1104 pipeline code , as well as A,S.M.E. boiler and pressure vessel code. At the time 90 % of those taking the A.W.S. test failed it .Kerry passed the test to become a C.W.I. the first time he took it .After bouncing around south Texas working for several companies , the economy took a turn for the worse . He had an opportunity to go in the welding fabricating business for himself ,working as a "rig welder ".His father gave him a huge opportunity to come to work building plants all over the west .On one job he worked 96 days in a row on 10 hour shifts . After three years of feast or famine construction work and living out of hotels ,he wanted a more stable life style .An opportunity to purchase a small business in his home county came along ,and thus the welding business was now in the rear view mirror. Fast forward to 2012 and Kuttawa Metalcraft was born . Kuttawa Metalcraft now ships custom made metal art , sculptures , metal fabrications all over the world .
