With headquarters in La Crosse, Wis., Dairyland Power Cooperative is a generation and transmission cooperative (G&T) that provides the wholesale electrical requirements and other services for 25 electric distribution cooperatives and 17 municipal utilities in the Upper Midwest. eeds of more than half a million people. Today, Dairyland’s generating resources include coal, natural gas, hydro, wind, landfill gas, animal waste and solar. Dairyland delivers electricity via more than 3,100 miles of transmission lines and nearly 300 substations located throughout the system’s 44,500 square mile service area. Dairyland’s service area encompasses 62 counties in four states (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois). Dairyland, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, has provided low-cost, reliable electrical energy and related services for more than 70 years.

Dairyland Power Cooperative President & CEO Brent Ridge presented a $5,000 donation to Hintgen Elementary School to support the school's Kindness Retreat and snack fund. The contribution included $2,500 from Dairyland and $2,500 from Brent and Lisa Ridge.

“Young people thrive when they have the support and opportunities to learn and grow,” said Dairyland President and CEO Brent Ridge. “We’re proud to support Hintgen students and invest in the future of our community.”

Due to low water levels, Dairyland has paused generation at its Flambeau Hydroelectric Station (Ladysmith, Wis.). The station will remain offline until river flows improve enough for safe operation.

Dairyland continues to monitor conditions and coordinate with the Wisconsin DNR. Fishers and boaters should use extra caution, go slow and watch for potential hazards.
