Last week, Brennan had the opportunity to welcome students from the Judy Corbett Hutchens Workforce Center for a behind-the-scenes look at careers in marine construction and the maritime industry.

The students spent the day learning about the work we do, exploring career opportunities, and seeing firsthand what it takes to keep our waterways working.

Thank you to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse for visiting and giving us the opportunity to share our industry with the next generation!

Helping restore the Banana River Lagoon, one layer of sand at a time! 🌊

At the Cocoa Beach Golf Muck Capping Project in Florida, Brennan crews are using a specialized sand capping process to help address decades of accumulated muck and improve water quality.

The project involves placing approximately 250,000 cubic yards of clean sand across 140 acres of the lagoon. Applied in thin, controlled layers, the sand creates a protective barrier over the underlying muck, helping prevent pollutants from entering the water column while supporting habitat restoration and future seagrass growth.

Through specialized equipment and a placement process designed specifically for this site, the project demonstrates how engineering and construction expertise can help address large-scale environmental challenges.

We’re proud to share that Jeff Steiber, government relations officer and small business liaison officer at Brennan, has been appointed to the US National Commission of the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC USA)!

As one of eight appointed commissioners, Jeff will help support the advancement of waterborne transportation infrastructure and collaborate with industry leaders from across the country and around the world!

With 34 years of experience in heavy marine construction and a strong background in inland navigation, Jeff brings valuable industry knowledge and perspective to this role.

We’re grateful that our Brennan Gives Back program allowed us to support Step Up for Down Syndrome Minnesota 2026 and the Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota’s work to make a difference in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

Following the successful rehabilitation of the South and East Berths, Brennan is now working on the North Berth of Pier 1 for Quonset Development Corporation.

As one of North America’s top 10 automobile import ports, the Port of Davisville plays an important role in moving vehicles and other cargo. To help keep that activity moving, Brennan crews are replacing aging infrastructure with new foundation piles, a reconstructed pier deck, and upgraded fender and mooring systems designed to support the port’s evolving needs.

These improvements will help support continued port operations, accommodate car carriers, and extend the pier’s service life for years to come.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐞?

At the USEPA Torch Lake-Linden Lake Remedial Action project in Lake Linden, Michigan, dredging is only the beginning of the process.

Brennan crews are mechanically dredging impacted material and transferring it for dewatering and material separation. Water generated along the way is collected and routed through an onsite treatment system before discharge.

From dredging on the water to processing and treatment on shore, each part of the operation works together to keep remediation moving forward.
