Happy to have helped with this.
🚂✨ to October 1967, when TVRM’s “Wind Tunnel Flyer” excursion made history!
🔹 Over 400 passengers rode from Chattanooga to Tullahoma, TN.
🔹 The train was welcomed by the U.S. Air Force at Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC).
🔹 Guests toured the world’s largest wind tunnel—marking the first passenger train to enter AEDC since President Truman dedicated the site.
🔹 The trip was described as “the nicest excursion ever operated by TVRM,” complete with fall colors, polished operations, and even Air Force guides with color-coded hard hats leading the tours.
Other happenings at the Museum included:
The outshopping of stainless steel coach Lynchburg ( #813) after a major restoration 🛠️
Membership drives that were helping TVRM grow steadily
Excitement for Chattanooga hosting the 1970 NRHS Convention
Moments like these remind us how TVRM has always combined preservation with unforgettable experiences for the community. 🌟
